The Buganda Kingdom is set to host its Buganda Kingdom Environment Week from June 8-14, 2024, the kingdom announced this in a press conference on 31st May, 2024. The week-long event aims to promote environmental conservation and awareness within the kingdom and beyond.
The Buganda Kingdom Environment Week will
feature
a variety of activities, including Ggaba Landing Site
Bulungibwansi and Health Camp on June 8th, Schools Debate and Open Speech
Competition on June 10th at Buddo Parents Academy, Main Day Celebrations on
June 12th at Mengo Secondary School, and Butambala Tree Planting on June 14th
in Butambala District.
We hope to see a strong turnout from the
public as we
unveil our vision for a
greener, healthier Buganda Kingdom and Uganda at
large. Your participation and support are crucial to the success of this
landmark event.
The Buganda Kingdom has long been a steward of the environment, and this Environment Week serves as an important step towards raising awareness and driving concrete action on critical issues like deforestation, pollution, and climate change. All are welcome to attend and join in the celebrations.
